What's new for 2005

There have been some very important changes for 2005.  They are listed below.  All changes have been approved by both the Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) and the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA).  Click HERE for revised rules of competition.

22 Player Roster for the Under 17 and Under 19 Age Groups:

Beginning September 1, 2005, US Youth Soccer will now allow a maximum of 22 player rosters for the Under 17 through Under 19 Age Groups.  The WAGS Tournament will also follow this rule.

Overtime Periods will no longer be "golden goal":

The WAGS Tournament has amended its rules so that overtime periods will now be two (2) five minute periods with teams switching ends after the first period.

Under 15 & Under 16 now allowed a maximum of 18 players w/ 3 guests:

The Under 15 and Under 16 age groups are allowed a maximum of 3 guest players.  Any team using loan players in the Under 15 & Under 16 age groups may now have a maximum roster size of eighteen (18) players including approved guest players.

US Youth Soccer Permission to Travel - Region I Teams:

US Youth Soccer Permission to Travel forms are not required for Region I teams accepted into the WAGS Tournament.  The only exception being NJSYS and CJSA Teams

Hotel Accommodations

Teams participating in the WAGS Tournament MUST (as a condition of acceptance) make all hotel accommodations using our tournament housing service.  Teams not using our tournament housing service will be disqualified.

WAGS is please to announce that GOT Soccer will be hosting the online application for the WAGS Tournament.
